Approach

First, notice.

I am drawn to photography that takes its time. Texture in an object, expression in a portrait, rhythm in a space. I use light and composition to give the subject room to speak.

  1. Notice a detail

    Begin by observing: find something in an object, a gesture or a space worth keeping.

  2. Read the light

    Choose light that reveals texture and form, setting the mood for the whole image.

  3. Build a story

    Bring wider views and small details together in a series with its own rhythm and feeling.

Before a shoot, we discuss the idea, the mood and where the images will be used. That gives us a direction for a considered, coherent series.
